Hi this is Cory. This is what has happened so far. Our flights went down very smoothly and our entire luggage made it to Czech; which was cause for much celebration. Last night we got to explore the wonders of Prague for a couple of hours. After getting all cleaned up from our flights Nate (one of the leaders of Josiah Venture) took us out to dinner and then led us to Old Town (Prague). It was fun showing the newer members of the Czech team places where a lot of our memories were created. After we left the city, Brittney and I introduced Kofola, which is a local soda, to a few of the guys. There faces were priceless. I’ll admit it’s not the best drink I have ever had, and the guys agree. But it’s one of those things that you just have to experience yourself. So now they know…
Our adventures to Malanovice have definitely been entertaining. We traveled from Hotel Krystal this morning in Prague. At the moment we are on the train heading toward Training Camp. Around 1 o’clock (in Czech time) the train came to a halt. We found out that the Czech transportation services were all stopping for a strike. I think it was concerning the wages of the drivers.
So our team was stuck in the middle of nowhere for about an hour. It wasn’t so bad because we were able to have some extra time to connect with our Czech friends who are also on their way to Malanovice. It was a great opportunity to use the term “being flexible.” There is a lot of farmlands that remind us all of home. Besides our little lock-down we are back on our way to camp. The weather is absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t ask for a better day to see the Czech countryside and get a better view of God’s work here in Czech.
I found a great verse that I think describes what our mission and Josiah Venture really well. It’s James 2:17-18. It states,
“In the same way faith by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.”
Thank you all for your continuous prayers and support.
Cory ☺
